Superintendent Search

The Board of Education is pleased to partner with Hazard, Young, and Attea (HYA), a national consulting firm, in the search for the next superintendent for the Estes Park School District. The board plans to select the next superintendent by April 20, 2026.

This search starts with posting for the position and planning sessions with HYA. In the coming days and weeks, the group will work to connect with stakeholders and gather information from the community on what Estes Park is looking for in our next superintendent.

We encourage you, the EPSD community, to help in the process by giving your feedback. We have two main ways for you to engage:

• Complete an online survey, or
• Attend a Focus Group February 26, 27, or 28 (the full calendar of dates and times is listed below)

All feedback is equal. However you choose to participate, we want to hear your thoughts! The survey questions are the same as the questions discussed at the in-person Focus Groups. You do not need to attend both.

Information gathered will be used to develop a profile of desired qualities and characteristics in the next superintendent. It will guide recruitment and the development of interview questions.

Your feedback is important! Please attend the appropriate focus group outlined below. Participants do not need to register; show up and jump in. The focus groups listed below are in-person. Spanish translation will be available in select focus groups. If you cannot attend a focus group or you would like to add additional comments from a scheduled focus group in which you attended, please email your comments to the following HYA Associates:

Focus Group Questions:

1. What are the strengths of the Estes Park School District that the next superintendent can build upon?
2. What are the challenges facing the Estes Park School District that the next superintendent should be aware of, or that you would like to see addressed?
3. What characteristics or traits are you looking for in your new superintendent?
4. Is there anything else you would like to share with us regarding the Estes Park School District?
5. HYA will be recruiting potential superintendent candidates for this position. Is there anyone that you can think of that might be a good fit as your new superintendent that we should contact? If so, please share or email us his/her name and contact information.
