Mr. David Grubbs

David Grubbs is an experienced Colorado educator with a career spanning nearly three decades of dedicated service to students and staff. He recently finished his assignment as the Principal of Grandview Elementary in the Weld RE-4 School District, where his primary leadership responsibilities included supervising certified and classified staff, managing safety and budgets, and fostering a "Leader in Me" culture across the building. David holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Elementary Education from Mesa State College and a Master of Arts in Educational Technology from the University of Northern Colorado. A professionally licensed Colorado School Principal (K-12), his previous roles include serving as a District Technology Integration Coordinator and Teacher on Special Assignment in the Thompson R2-J School District, as well as several years as a classroom teacher. His leadership has been recognized statewide; he was selected as a Peer Coach for the Colorado Department of Education’s Principal Leadership Institute and has served on critical district-level teams, including the Long-Range Facility Task Force and the Board/Staff MOU Task Force.

Beyond his administrative credentials, David is known for his hands-on approach to leadership—whether he is working with other educational leaders or grabbing a snow shovel to clear a school walkway. His career highlights include leading buildings through significant crises and medical emergencies with a steady hand, and his coaching background in high school basketball and track underscores his commitment to student growth outside the classroom. David’s connection to the Estes Valley is deeply personal, rooted in quality time hiking, fishing, hunting, and visiting the YMCA of the Rockies. He is eager to bring this passion for the area into a professional focus, aligning his leadership with the Estes Park commitment to Respect, Ownership, Attentiveness, and Safety. David is ready to invest his time and energy into the Bobcat community, ensuring that every student in this unique mountain setting is prepared for a global future.
