Peggy Mauerman

I believe that strong public schools are the foundation of our community, and indeed our economy. My core belief is that our schools, along with our community, have the responsibility of educating the next generation of leaders and global citizens.

In addition to education fundamentals, I support fostering an environment of creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving. Each student is unique, and our schools should do everything possible to meet their individual needs. Our teachers, administrators and staff are key to the success of our schools, and I believe that we should support them by valuing their education and expertise. I am passionate about investing in the professional development of our educators. Essential to everything we want to achieve is the physical and mental health as well as safety of our children.

I have a keen understanding of the issues facing our schools and believe that by working together and by always putting student needs first, we can achieve excellence!

I am a 20-year resident of the district and am retired after a 30-year career in international business with HP/Hewlett Packard Enterprise. I’m currently the director of the Allenspark Foodbank and a volunteer with Estes Park Restorative Justice. I am the mother of 3 adult children that received an education from the skilled and dedicated teachers of the Estes Park schools. I’m confident that my background will guide me in clear governance and decision making for our schools.

I’m running for the Estes Park School Board because I believe in forward progress, and I believe in our students!
