BFA in Theatre MA in Human Development and Education with a concentration on Early Literacy

Ms. Jenny Godsey

Hello Estes Park families!  I am excited to meet you and your students!

A little bit about me:

I earned my BFA in Theatre in 2010 (I love to sing and dance with my students!) and in 2012 I began working in preschool classrooms and fell in love with teaching.  I moved to Colorado in 2016 to pursue my graduate degree through UC Denver and Boulder Journey School.  After completing my MA in Human Development and Education with a concentration in Early Literacy, I decided to stay in Colorado and teach preschool and pre-k in Fort Collins and Greeley.  I'm now excited to call Estes Park my home!

In the classroom, I strive to create a strong sense of community and ensure that each student finishes their first year of school feeling valued, confident, and capable.  I use play, nature, and hands-on experiences to build foundational skills in Literacy, Language, Math, Critical Thinking, and Social/Emotional Development.  I understand that each student brings unique strengths and experiences to the classroom, and I partner with families to challenge students, nurture growth, and encourage positive self expression.  I look forward to working with all the families in my classroom to set students on the path to a life-long love of learning!  When I'm not in the classroom I love gardening, hiking, camping, reading, photography, collecting children's books, and starting endless amounts of craft projects!

MA in Curriculum and Instruction Certified K-6 Educator with an Endorsement in Early Childhood Education.

Ms. Elizabeth Sanders

Like many teachers, education was not my first career. I spent 15 years in the legal field before finding my true passion - teaching!  I am certified K-6 with an Endorsement in Early Childhood Education.  I also have a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.

I grew up in Austin, TX but have lived in several different states over the years.  I love anything outdoors - hiking, cycling, kayaking, skiing and snowshoeing.  I have 2 daughters who are CU Boulder graduates. I’m now what they call an empty nester but my 2 Huskies - Nala and Luna - are good company and keep me busy.

I moved to Estes Park from Denver where I worked for Denver Public Schools as an Early Childhood Educator.  I bring 24 years of early childhood experience with me both in private and public preschools. I truly believe I have the best job ever!  Your children are at an age where their curiosity and imagination are powerful motivators for their learning.  While I believe a large part of my job is to prepare them for Kindergarten, it is my primary mission to instill a love of school in your children.  We will learn the ABCs and 123s and love coming to school to learn.

One of the gifts of living in Estes is the connection we have with nature and wildlife.  These assets are a big part of our exploration as children learn best from things that are the most real to them.

We also have an occupational therapist, speech therapist, physical therapist, nurse and school psychologist who are active in the preschool when their services are necessary. Always feel free to approach any adult in the preschool and ask about their role. We are here to serve you and your child.
